J & G Meakin operated in Stoke,
Staffordshire from 1898 to 1902, then at Cobridge
until 1946 when it moved to Hanley. In
1977 it was renamed Myott-Meakin and in 1991 was
taken over by Churchill |
This nice jug is
10 cm high, with a curved, fluted shape.
It is decorated with a design of horse chestnut leaves and flowers in
autumn colours. The backstamp (see photo) reads: Ironstone Ware by Myott,
England. There are a couple of
pinhead-sized blue spots under the glaze, otherwise
this little jug is in very good condition, with no chips, cracks or
crazing. Contact
