APJ Collectables Palissy Small Beaker : Bergen
The Palissy Pottery was established in 1946, although a number of companies had occupied the pottery site at Longton, Stoke-on-Trent from the middle of the 19th century The Palissy Pottery was bought by the Royal Worcester Porcelain Company in 1958 and continued in operation until 1989.		This small beaker is 6.75 cm high. The Bergen design is handpainted in bright shades of blue, green and brown. The backstamp (see photo) reads: “Bergen”, Palissy, England, Est. *1853. As the firm was bought by Royal Worcester in 1958, this beaker must have been made some time before 1958, probably earlier in the 1950’s.
